There's a lot of pacing issues. The beginning is alright with the pan from the night sky, but I think rather than panning toward the island, you should've panned towards the ships; This would help the viewer understand what the threat is immediately. Then you'd show the island, the guy sees the pirates, and the pirates would attack. Side note, the way he points towards the ships and just sticks there for a moment is awkward. I'd get rid of that shot and just have the part where he shouts( or combine the hand shot with the body shot into one). There are also a lot of moments where the sound is hard to hear. But then there are also moments like at around 1:36 where the music is loud and jarring. ALSO about the pacing for the fight scene should be faster paced and the main character should be either winning by a lot or losing by a lot, so that it's more impactful when the villain beats him. And when he lifts him up, we should see him get lifted up. Just cutting to him in the air doesn't communicate that as well. I would also just cut the dialogue between them, it doesn't provide anything to the story besides just restating that the villain took over the island. Then cut to the kid on the boat looking at the island. But all of that being said, that's just how I would do it. If you like my advice, feel free to use it.
